How It Works
Claritine S is an antiallergic medicine that contains the antihistamine loratadine. It inhibits the action of histamine, which is one of the most important mediators of an allergic reaction.
When to use
Claritine s relieves the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose and a burning sensation or itching in the eyes. It can also be used to treat urticaria (hives), which is an allergic skin disorder, to relieve symptoms such as itching and redness, and to reduce the number and size of rashes and other allergic skin reactions.
Dosage
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age can take 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of Claritine syrup once a day, preferably before meals.
Children under 12 years of age should only be given the medicine under medical supervision.
Children 2 to 12 years of age who weigh more than 30 kg can be given 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of Claritine syrup once a day.
Children 2 to 12 years of age weighing less than 30 kg can be given 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of Claritine syrup once a day.
Children 1 to 2 years of age can be given 1/2 teaspoon of Claritina syrup once a day.
Self-medication can take up to 10 days. If you want to take the medicine for a long time, talk to your doctor.
