Description
The active substance in BISOLVON is bromhexine, a synthetic derivative of the herbal active substance vasicin. Bromhexine accelerates expectoration and relieves cough. BISOLVON is used as a secretolytic (mucus liquefaction) and a secretomotor (accelerates the secretion of mucus from the respiratory tract) in acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with disease-altered mucus secretion and its transmission.
Do not take BISOLVON:
– if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to bromhexine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of BISOLVON, – if you have a rare inherited disease that may be incompatible with any of the other ingredients.
Take special care with BISOLVON:
– if you are a patient with a peptic ulcer, – if you are an elderly, debilitated patient and do not have enough strength to express sufficiently with increased secretion of bronchial mucus;
– if you notice any changes in the skin or mucous membranes. If they occur, consult a doctor immediately and discontinue treatment as a precaution. Severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome (a serious skin disease in which the top layer of skin dies and peels) and Lyell’s syndrome have been reported very rarely.
